Identifying the various components/ways of water losses and knowing what improvements can be made is essential for making the most effective use of irrigation water.Therefore, a study was undertaken in Muvumba P-8 Marshland in Nyagatare district with global objective of assessing the performance and evaluation of basin irrigation in Muvumba P-8 marshland and specific objectives of evaluation of irrigation efficiency, conveyance and determination of discharge for primary, secondary and tertiary channel, soil characteristic and weather data pertaining for irrigating rice crop.
