In order to respond to these numerous challenges, and to improve the performance and transparency of the management of its interventions, the United Nations and its 193 member states embarked on reforms in the late 1990s, culminating in the introduction of results-based management within the organization in 2002.This book explores the internal mechanisms for implementing results-based management within the UN system and its programs, and analyzes the limits of this strategic tool. It also addresses the operational issues and constraints associated with its effective implementation.

Dr. Viviane TASSI BELA ist Doktorin der Managementwissenschaften und ständige assoziierte Forscherin des CORHIS-Labors an der Universität Paul Valéry in Montpellier, Frankreich. Seit 2017 ist sie als Senior-Evaluierungsexpertin bei den UN-Organisationen tätig und zwischen 2022 - 2023 Diplomatin.
