These expectations led to the surge of overseas employment opportunities for Filipino Nurses that created depletion of competent professionals. The high demand for nurses led to the mushrooming of nursing schools that in turn resulted in the lack of competent faculty and inadequate facilities and equipment. As a result, the number of board passers dropped significantly.
