The work presented in this document aims to disseminate the results of evaluation of a vehicular ad hoc network in a realistic scenario by simulation. The network was tested in a scenario with two dimensions, considering small areas and other larger areas closer as possible to the reality of the street of a city. Also the presence of buildings, signal fading and variating the speed of vehicles, have been considering to this analysis. This work shows a possible behavior of a VANET and performance that it would reach if implemented in reality.
