This book explores how performance management and appraisal can help improve public senior high school teacher's quality in the Wa Municipal Directorate of Education in the Upper West Region of Ghana. The research gathered data from both secondary and primary sources and used the mixed method approach. The key instruments used for the data collection were questionnaire. A total of 140 respondents who took part in this study were purposively selected. The study found out that headteachers, circuit supervisors and inspectorate boards supervising of public senior high schools in Wa Municipal were seriously engaging in evaluation of teacher's lesson notes and discussions with teachers after class supervision but at times get biased in their appraisals. The study also found out that Ghana Education Service existing appraisal form content is not spelt out vividly for clearer understanding. The study also found out that the existing Ghana Education Service teacher's performance appraisal is not properly conducted and its records are not effectively utilized.
