Socially excluded, homeless and street-involved individuals frequenting Victoria's downtown core can find refuge through a number of programs offered by the Cool Aid Society. Two programs that encompass a multi-disciplinary approach to help these individuals are the Health and Dental Clinics that focus on treatment and primary care for individuals with complex disorders, including those with HIV, hepatitis C, mental health problems and multifaceted medical disorders. The programs were developed to help the most vulnerable in society by creating a range of immediate to long-term services that build hope, lives and community. Although contractual requirements to produce and implement effective performance measures was initiated by major funders to satisfy their need for accountability, the ensuing results of performance measures will be improved program services.
