The availability of production electricity is essential to the economic strength of a nation. Electricity demand has therefore gained remarkable attention over the last few decades due to the higher standard of living and increasing number of consumers etc. The electricity generating companies are striving to improve the efficiency and performance of their power plants. To achieve this, the locations and causes of useful energy destruction and losses in the power plant components have to be investigated and found. Exergy analysis has increasingly attracted the interest of many researchers to achieve the above goal. The purpose of exergy analysis is generally to identify the location, the source and the magnitude of true thermodynamic inefficiencies in power plants . Moreover, the results provided by exergy analysis can be used as a guide for reducing the thermodynamic inefficiencies of power plants and improving their performance. The exergy analysis needs much more attention andapplication so that the irreversibilities can be minimized and thus the systems can be operated at much higher efficiency and less emissions.
