Dill is a fragrant and therapeutic annual herb of the apiaceae family. It is commercially grown in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Dill seed is rich in vitamins A, C, B2, B3, and B9 as well as minerals including Cu, K, Ca, Mn, Fe and Mg and its seed and leaves are used as flavouring ingredients in sauces, vinegar, pastries and soups and in medicine as a diuretic, antispasmodic and galactagogue.
