After his first book, --Disaster In The Gulf--, Ramon F. D'Elosua has written another exciting adventure story about his intrepid captain, Terry Jackson, or T.J. and his most of his friends and crew. There is love, adventure, and a few conflicts along the way that will keep you turning the pages. There is the usual humor intertwined with the drama that keeps things interesting. The crew becomes a close knit family, and are very supportive of each other. While helping out some friends that were caught up in super storm Sandy, T.J. finds out about a shipment of very valuable war surplus aircraft parts that were lost in a storm in 1948 on Lake Superior. These parts include 24 radial engines that are rated at 2,000 horsepower each, that were reported to be sealed in containers so the thought was that they could be in new condition. These engines in their protective cases, weigh around 3,500 pounds each, so bringing them up form the bottom of the lake is going to be quite a challenge in itself. After checking with a good friend who is into anything involving aviation, they think these engines could be worth over $100,000.00 each. Armed with only an old chart, a story from an old man, and an old boat, he feels that it is worth the risk to try to salvage the stuff. He purchases a 40 year old 98 foot military work vessel to use for the venture. T.J. counts on his friend Jack to renovate the fire damaged craft. Jack is up to the task, and soon has the refit complete. The crew has to contend with sudden storms, hidden ice, heavy fog, and a dangerous reef that has been claiming vessels ever since the first Indians in canoes got wrecked on it. The crew soon finds out why the words in the song say, --- when the waves turn the minutes into hours ---, are so true. The fun starts when they have to figure out how to find the lost cargo out on the stormy lake. They use home-made search gear to find the goods, and then have to salvage the stuff from the 400 foot deep frigid water. It is found that somebody beat them to part of the bounty, but there is still plenty left if they can find it all where it is scattered over the sandy bottom. There are greedy interlopers who think the guys have found a stash of gold, and diamonds. The bandits want a piece of it, and go to great lengths to get what they are after. All the risks pay off in the end, and the crew does very well. The find themselves looking forward to their next adventure where They have to deal with a big, mean bear that wants Andy for his lunch.
