The use of periodontal dressings has been widespread for many years. Recently, however, the value of periodontal dressings and their effects on periodontal wound healing have been questioned. The squeale of periodontal surgery are commonly pain, swelling, inflammation, and bleeding. Thus, many periodontists advocate that some form of protection should be applied over the injurious tissue so that the affected area is shielded from further insult.There has been a lot of debate in this regard as to use periodontal dressing or not. It has been reported that the periodontal dressing accelerates the healing process but a general consensus has not been reached on the necessity of application of periodontal dressing on periodontal wound. Thus, this book has been undertaken with the aim to review the various concepts regarding periodontal dressing & it's uses.
