This book aims to present a model of group psychological intervention, created in the city of Florianópolis, focused on the promotion of healthy aging, called Personal Growth Groups (PCG). The research had as a general objective to analyze the importance of the PCG for the constitution of a model of psychological intervention on the development of the elderly person and as specific objectives: to make a historical overview of the PCG constitution; to delineate the theoretical-methodological basis of the PCG; to verify the implications of the groups on the lives of the participants; to present new works developed from the perspective of acting and the theoretical-methodological referential of the PCG. From this study it was possible to realize that the working model developed in the PCMs provided the construction of a privileged atmosphere for social interaction, expansion of communication skills and expression of feelings, as well as the sharing of life stories and the re-signification of situations experienced.
