Produktbeschreibung
In this book, Antar Abdellah presents perspectives on the theory of language and the applications of language teaching and language learning. The Linguistics part handles issues in Semantics, Phonology and a review of the government theory in Syntax. The perspectives on teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (TAFL) mark the application of language theories in language teaching. Two case studies are presented; problems and suggestions in teaching the Arabic sound system and in teaching word roots and the broken plural. The last part of the book ; perspectives on TEFL, handles case studies on applying language theory in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Eye movement in reading, creative writing for the gifted and using workshops in teaching writing are the three areas studied in details. Although these studies have been conducted at different times in different contexts, they represent case studies of problems in studying and teaching Language which would be of benefit to researchers in Linguistics and Language Pedagogy.
