Autorenporträt
Adelbert von Chamisso wurde am 30.1.1781 in Frankreich geboren und ging 1790 mit seinen Eltern nach Berlin, wo er am Hofe Königin Luises von Preußen als Page arbeitete. Nach der Herausgabe des Grünen Musenalmanachs 1804 studierte er zunächst in Berlin Medizin und Botanik und nahm an einer Weltumsegelung teil, bevor er 1832-38 zusammen mit Gustav Schwab an der Redaktion des Deutschen Musenalmanachs arbeitete. Am 28.8.1838 erlag Adelbert von Chamisso in Berlin einem Lungenleiden.
