William M. Taylor was born, educated and ordained in Scotland. He was one of the greatest preachers of his day. He is especially known for his expository writings on the parables and miracles. During his almost twenty years of preaching in Scotland, Taylor became famous as a forceful preacher. At the age of 42 years he came to America, and for twenty years was the famed preacher of the Broadway Tabernacle in New York City. Taylor was Lyman Beecher lecturer in Yale Seminary and L. P. Stone Lecturer in Princeton Seminary. He was preacher in the front rank and enjoyed an international reputation. When Taylor died at the age of sixty-six, he left a legacy of over forty books. Many of these are in demand to this day. Among them are his famous Bible Biographies.
