In this book, you will find information on the production of petroleum tar pitch (PTP) from vacuum gas oil (VGO) with the purpose of using this type of pitch as a binder for carbon anodes in the aluminum industry, as well as an experimental matrix for its production and a thermodynamic model that will evaluate its conversion from vacuum gas oil to petroleum tar pitch. In the first pages you will find a synthesis of everything related to thermal cracking from the refining point of view and the concepts of vacuum gas oil and petroleum tar pitch, written in such a way that the interested people…mehr

Produktbeschreibung
In this book, you will find information on the production of petroleum tar pitch (PTP) from vacuum gas oil (VGO) with the purpose of using this type of pitch as a binder for carbon anodes in the aluminum industry, as well as an experimental matrix for its production and a thermodynamic model that will evaluate its conversion from vacuum gas oil to petroleum tar pitch. In the first pages you will find a synthesis of everything related to thermal cracking from the refining point of view and the concepts of vacuum gas oil and petroleum tar pitch, written in such a way that the interested people who are starting in the refining world will be immediately placed in the technical processes, followed by an experimental methodology to obtain petroleum tar pitch base under moderate severity conditions. Likewise, you will get a thermodynamic model based on a mechanism of C-C bond breaking, with free radical formation, including also bridge-type breaks between aromatic polycondensed systems, as in the case of resins and asphaltenes.
