The present study was aimed to isolate efficient strains of PGPR from wheat rhizosphere at tillering and anthesis stage under drought stress. Identification and characterization was done by various biochemical tests. The effectiveness of PGPR for improvement of growth and development of plants reinoculation experiment was established.The isolated PGPRs, when used as inocula have shown greater potential towards the better stability of plant under water deficit conditions.
