"Phantasmagoria" is a retrospective look at the enigmatic artwork of Jim Sohr, a New Orleans artist who learned to paint while imprisoned at Louisiana State Penitentiary for selling marijuana. Colored by his distinctively personal style, the scope of Sohr's life work epitomizes artistic trends throughout the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Painting for over 50 years, Sohr has been guided by his subconscious mind, artistically communicating symbolic imagery from his dreams.
