Whether it is Modern system of medicine(s) making or is a Traditional system (e.g, Ayurveda) of making medicine(s), appropriate methods of Quality control are mandatory to ensure the formulations are ready for their transfer with fine quality from the makers to the ultimate users, as and if they involve potential phyto-constituents. The methods may be circumscribing any one or a few or all of the following areas: Morphological, Microscopical, Physical, Physico-chemical, Chemical and Biological (Bio-chemical, Pharmacological and Microbiological) including Modern Methods of quality control. Also a Continued upward demand for natural source of medicines especially herbal medicines either as formulated dosage forms or as ideal models for creation/designing of Novel semi-synthetic or synthetic molecules necessitates the broadening of knowledge in the area of Pharmacognosy, Ayurvedic pharmaceutical researches and medicines. This gave birth to the text book covering the above described areas with utmost simplicity and legibility titled Pharmacognostic and Biological Evaluations on Ayurvedic Formulations of Some Medicinal Plants (Viburnum Linn. species).
