The rationale of this project work was to formulate oral conventional herbal tablets containing Quinine in herbal extract and to determine the pharmacokinetic profile of the same (formulated herbal extract tablets). The pharmacokinetic profile of the herbal formulation was compared with the pharmacokinetic profile of the pure quinine formulation and marketed formulation. Since herbal formulations consist of natural plant material and not a synthesized chemical, herbal remedies are less likely to cause unpleasant side effects than conventional pharmaceutical drugs. Thus, herbal remedies are precised safer, gentler and lower costing than conventional drugs.
