Total of 32 wine samples including 16 white and 16 red wines before bottling (all wines from the 2009 vintage) were analysed, to determine their total phenolics contents, total antioxidant activity/capacity and individual phenolic compounds, and associate the concentration levels of these compounds with the geographical origin of wine. Wines were made from Grüner Veltliner and Zweigelt and cultivars were grown in four different geographical regions of Austria and Czech Republic; two wineries in Austria (Poysdorf, Großriedenthal) and two wineries in the Czech Republic (Velké Bílovice, Bosovice).
