Philosophy as a type of human activity and knowledge emerged more than 2,500 years ago, almost simultaneously in several centers of the cultural oikoumene of that time - in China, India, ancient Israel and later in ancient Greece. This period in the history of human civilization Karl Jaspers called the "axial time", in which philosophical teachings were born and some of these teachings became religions later. Philosophy, if you restore the original etymology of this word, is "love of Sophia", which is often and very accurately translated as "love of wisdom". In fact, the ancient Greek concept of "Sophia" is much more capacious and complex than just "wisdom". If in Plato's representation, which has fixed in the European terminology the word "philosophy", the philosopher was just a wise man or loving to wisdom, he would not introduce exactly this word "philosopher", speaking about love to Sofia, and would stop simply on the word sage. The fact that Plato under Sofia did not mean the acquired, subjective property of human mind, but a certain "great and decent only deity" objective quality of a reasonably arranged and harmonious world.
