Phoebe seems like the kind of person that would love going to parties. She has a lot of friends and she likes spending time around them. But when she arrives at the party, she isn't sure where she fits in. She decides to take a walk and spend a little time alone. Her experience that night deepens the way she thinks about herself, her relationship to others, and her place in the world. This is a story about learning how to be still and go deep inside yourself to find peace, to feel connected to the world, and to experience universal love.

Eileen enjoys writing stories that use simple metaphors to help children, teens, and adults think about being human and learning to cope with adversity, change, and our emotions. For over 20 years, Eileen has been exploring and writing about the intersection of ethics, culture, religion, spiritual practice, nature, mathematics and science. She has shared her thoughts on these ideas in Unitarian Universalist congregations by creating and presenting over 50 Sunday services which incorporate her sermons and children's stories. She writes a story for the children's time in her services to distill the essence of the 20-minute sermon into a 5-minute story that is meaningful for both the children and the adults in the audience. You can read some of her work at School of Thought on WordPress (school-of-thought.org). She is also a yoga teacher and she uses short stories to deepen the lessons her students carry with them off their yoga mats. Stay tuned for more books to come! Eileen is in the process of collaborating with artists to illustrate and publish all of these stories.
