Diese Tradition, diesich im englischen Sprachraum besonders seit dem ersten Weltkriegentwickelt hat, führt Antony Owen fort, indem er sie verändert: Als»peace poet« weitet er den Blick und fasst die unzähligen Opfer vonKriegen und Konflikten ins Auge - neben den berühmten »UnbekanntenSoldaten« treten die unbekannten Zivilisten und klagenan. »Phoenix / Phönix« bringt bisher nicht veröffentlichte Gedichtesowie eine Auswahl aus den beiden letzten, von der Kritik überauspositiv aufgenommenen Gedichtbänden, »The Nagasaki Elder«(V. Press, 2017) und »The Unknown Civilian« (The Knives Forks &Spoon Press, 2020).Dieses Buch entstand als ein Projekt der Städtepartnerschaftzwischen Coventry und Dresden in Zusammenarbeit vonMenschen aus beiden Städten.
