This book presents teachers' phonetic variation in Indian context. It examined whether the Undergraduate teachers' have deviated from the English sounds in their speech and also observed how good their English stress patterns. Keeping in mind the availability of time and practicability, the present study has attempted to analyse the variation in segmental features and word accent. The phonetic transcription of the specimens was done purely based on the auditory impression of the researcher. This study has revealed certain features of word- stress of undergraduate Teachers.

Dr, Sridhar Maisa earned his Ph.D. from University of Hyderabad. He taught English in Nizam College, Osmania University for several years.
