Photographs of Gratitude is a tribute to one womans journey beyond depression through the use of photography as a practice of gratitude. In a quest for beauty and predictable patterns, Robin used her pocket sized point and shoot camera to capture a new reality and recreate her life. Her photography became a vehicle for her journey from depression to gratitude from a life of looking back to a life of here and now. She discovered beauty, simplicity, and light through the lens of her camera. By pursuing the light, she found her way out of the darkness.

Autorenporträt
Carol Flinn has a MA in Psychology and over 40 years experience in behavioral healthcare. She and Robin met in Seattle, Washington and formed a life together in 2001. They relocated to Boston, Massachusetts, in 2004 to join others in the historic State Supreme Court Decision to become one of the first same-sex couples to legally marry in the United States. While traveling in northern California, Carol and Robin stopped at a small diner for lunch. A wall covered in mirrors presented an opportunity for Robin to capture this selfie, showing her with camera in hand and Carol sitting in the background. The photo reflects Robins intensity and focus on her photography, while also capturing Carols quiet support in the background.
