This work made a description of the characteristics of the environments of the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga (AMB) in which the parasite is present in reservoirs and vectors, with the main objective of differentiating the factors that influence their distribution and therefore the transmission. This is done taking into account the ecological and behavioral patterns of its main reservoirs, the opossums (Didelphis marsupialis) and secondary vectors (Rodnius pallesens), as well as emphasizing the importance of the density of palms of the genus Acrocomia aculeata, since they act as ecotropes…mehr

This work made a description of the characteristics of the environments of the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga (AMB) in which the parasite is present in reservoirs and vectors, with the main objective of differentiating the factors that influence their distribution and therefore the transmission. This is done taking into account the ecological and behavioral patterns of its main reservoirs, the opossums (Didelphis marsupialis) and secondary vectors (Rodnius pallesens), as well as emphasizing the importance of the density of palms of the genus Acrocomia aculeata, since they act as ecotropes for the vectors in the AMB. To carry out this, remote sensing methodologies with drone were used to collect maps of each area, with which analysis of the methodology of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) were carried out, with the intention of providing relevant information for the knowledge of the disease and decision-making processes in public health in relation to CHD in the AMB.
