Co-ordination chemistry of transition metal ion has been a great interdisciplinary relevance in our day to day life. It is an area of considerable importance because of its wide biological significance.Literature review of past co-ordination compounds reveals that complexes of copper with N and S donor ligands are source of stimulation to many research workers for their unique stereo chemical & spectral properties. Their pharmacological and biocidal properties are significantly useful and practically important. N containing aromatic compounds are recognized as pharmacophores have received great attention in drug discovery and lead optimization. The present research work is initiated us to synthesize complexes of Cu (II) namely copper palmitate and copper caprylate in non- aqueous solvent systems. The present work highlights: 1. Synthesis of Cu (II) soaps derived from common fatty acids and their complexes with 2-Amino 6-Bromo benzothiazole. 2. Analytical and spectral studies (IR, NMR, ESR and magnetic moment) for structural insight and geometrical interpretations. 3. Physico-chemical investigation (density, viscosity & fluidity) to understand the micelle characterization.
