Ground water plays an essential role in human life for their survival. There are several states in India where more than 90% populations are dependent on groundwater for drinking and other purpose. Due to increasing population, industrialization, unplanned urbanization and dumping of sewage at inappropriate place groundwater gets contaminated. Hence there is always needed for concern over the protection and management of groundwater quality. In the present study, an attempt has been made to assess the physical, chemical and heavy metal content in the ground water of Agra.
