The physico-chemical and bacteriological analyses of various water resources in Ezeagu and Uzo-uwani Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Enugu State were carried out with the aim to characterize and evaluate the water supplies for portability and safety. These water resources (rivers, ponds, hand dug wells and boreholes) remain the major supplies for drinking and domestic purposes for the communities in these areas. A total of two hundred and ten (210) water samples were collected. Sampling was carried out three times in a year, covering dry, early rainy and rainy seasons, for two years. In each trip, thirty-five water samples were collected from six boreholes (BH), fifteen hand dug wells (HDW), four rivers and five ponds. All analyses were carried out using standard methods.
