Natural products mainly the plant derived constituents have long been the source of drugs and are also of great interest in the process of drug discovery. The knowledge of herbal medicines is prevalent in non-tribal areas of Gujarat as well. The herbal medicines have always generated interest amongst people because they are natural effective traditional and have minimum side effects. In view of these, there have always been formal or informal initiatives for documenting popularizing and there by reviewing and revit-alizing the system of herbal medicines. It is estimated that about 75,000 plant species are being used for medicinal purposes across the globe. In this background, we have planned of the world population rely on herbal traditional constituents and scientific validation of traditional claims of a very well know culinary spice i.e. Trachyspermum ammi which is commonly known as Ajwain. To study the impact, interaction and dynamic influence of long-acting compounds and biochemical intervene agents on growth and quality of Ajwain and establishment of promising protocol for better quality and production of Ajwain were the aim of these reaserch.
