Toshiaki Enoki is professor emeritus at the institute. Prof. Enoki has won many awards, such as the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, 2008. His main research subject is the electronic and magnetic properties of pi-electron systems, particularly nanocarbon materials. Tsuneya Ando moved to the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2002, where, since his retirement in March 2011, he is institute professor. He has won numerous awards such as the Nishina Memorial Prize (1982) and the Japan Academy Prize (1983). His main research subject is the theoretical study of electronic and transport properties of low-dimensional systems.
