Can physics forceps replace conventional forceps in non- surgical mandibular dental extraction? To authenticate this query we compared outcome variables (laceration, cortical plate fracture, post-operative pain and complication) in patients being treated for their tooth extraction with the physics forceps and the conventional forceps.We organised a double blind, randomized controlled trial in which p value came to be statistically significant in support of physics forceps.

Soumen Mandal obtained his B.Tech degree from KIIT University Bhubaneswar and a subsequent M.Tech in Mechatronics from AcSIR India. He is presently working as a Scientist (Trainee) at Council for Scientific and Industrial research and possess expertise in micro nano systems technology.
