Obesity is prevalent in our community. In general, approximately, 71.9% of Palestinians of the age group between 25 to 65 years suffer from overweight. Obesity is prevalent in our community. In general, approximately, 71.9% of Palestinians of the age group between 25 to 65 years suffer from overweight. This percentage increases the probability of chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and thus further enhance of heart attack and stroke. In Gaza strip, approximately, 43.4% in the same age category suffers from obesity, of which 53.6% females. Therefore, thyroid hormones disorder has been recently linked to obesity. Examination of T4, T3 and TSH is required in obese subjects in an attempt to understand the association of these hormones with obesity. This study brought into focus this risk health problem. The results of this research may draw the attention of the entire spectrum of Palestinian society to consider these results.
