Born in Chicago, Illinois, he is a Navy veteran and a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago. A retired computer systems analyst, he has also served as a Blue & Gold Officer for the United States Naval Academy (in which he interviewed potential candidates for the Navy s college in Annapolis, Maryland). He retired from that in 2013 after 20 years of service. In addition, he is an avid model railroader, and, In what s left of his spare time, he is a passionate reader and gardener.
