E.R. SEARY (PH D, University of Sheffield) was Professor and Head of the Department of English Language and Literature at Memorial University in Newfoundland from 1953 to 1970. He is now Henrietta Harvey Professor of English at Memorial. His published works include The Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland: An Ethnolinguistic Study.
