Charles "Charlie" Edward Daniels, born on October 28th, 1936, Wilmington, North Carolina, U.S., was a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, best known for his contributions to Southern rock, country, and bluegrass music, including his chart-topping country hit The Devil Went Down to Georgia. Daniels was active as a singer and musician from the '50s, being inducted into the Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame during 2002, the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum the following year then the Country Music Hall of Fame during 2016.
