Rice-moth, Corcyra cephalonica (Stainton) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) - an important pest of stored commodities, urgently needs appropriate technology for the management of its population below a threshold level. Active ingredients isolated from selected non-host plant volatiles confirm not only a new pathway for the management of the population of this notorious pest in godowns and households but these ingredients are also degradable and non-toxic in nature. We are sure that these findings will help in the formulation of appropriate technology from which the quantity of volatile can be maintained for a specific time in households and godowns.
