This fifth edition coincides with the 10th anniversary of the book release, commemorating 'Plantation Memories' as an important contribution to the global cultural discourse.
Autorenporträt
Interdisziplinäre Künstlerin, Autorin und Theoretikerin, geboren in Lissabon, wo sie klinische Psychologie und Psychoanalyse studierte. Stark beeinflusst von der Arbeit von Frantz Fanon, begann Kilomba über Erinnerung, Trauma, ¿Rasse¿, Geschlecht und (Post-)Kolonialismus zu schreiben und zu veröffentlichen; später erweiterte sie ihre Anliegen auf Form, Sprache, Performance, Film und Installation. In ihrer Arbeit schafft Kilomba bewusst einen hybriden Raum zwischen den akademischen und künstlerischen Sprachen und nutzt ¿Storytelling¿ als zentrales Element ihrer dekolonialen Praktiken. Ihre ebenso durchdachten wie provozierenden Arbeiten wurden unter anderem auf der Biennale de São Paulo, der Berlin Biennale und der Documenta präsentiert. Kilomba promovierte in Philosophie an der Freien Universität Berlin und lehrte an mehreren internationalen Universitäten, zuletzt als Professorin an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Sie ist auch Mitherausgeberin der Bücher ¿Gemachte Differenz¿ und ¿Mythen, Masken und Subjekte¿, beide erschienen im Unrast Verlag.
