This book revolves around a preliminary quantitative analysis of chemical constituents of Stereospermum Kunthiamum and Combretum Sericeum which make them responsible for their known medicinal purposes. These chemical constituents are otherwise known as PHYTOCHEMICALS. There are many known phytochemicals but those under consideration are Alkaloid, Tannins, Saponins, Flavonoid, Anthraquinone and Glycoside. The book also considers anti-bacterial activities of these samples through two different media; water and methanol. The research confirms the presence of Alkaloid, Flavonoid, Tannin, Saponin, Glycoside and Anthraquinone in both media except saponin in methanolic extract. The book is thus a foundation for further researches especially quantitative analysis which is a pathway to making those plants better alternatives to synthetic drugs.
