Plasmablastic lymphoma was initially described in 1997 associated with infection with HIV. This lymphoma usually presents within the oral cavity of HIV-infected individuals and carries a poor prognosis with current chemotherapeutic approaches. Dr. Castillo is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. His main research interests include epidemiology, prognostic factors and therapy of lymphomas and HIV-associated malignancies.
