The recycling of plastics will not only minimize the pollution, but also generate some useful solid, liquid and gaseous products. Tertiary methods of recycling are the most important and involves the production of basic chemicals and fuels from plastics waste through pyrolysis or thermal decomposition. The petroleum reserves may also be extended by using waste plastics and other organic wastes.
