Le truppe tedesche avanzarono in Francia e sconfissero decisamente i francesi a Sedan. Questa guerra cambiò violentemente il corso della storia europea, segnando la fine dell'egemonia francese nell'Europa continentale e portò alla proclamazione del nuovo Impero tedesco a Versailles: fu il culmine delle ambizioni di Bismarck di unire la Germania.

He is also the editorial manager of Soldiershop publishing, an Italian publishing company specializing in military and illustrated history. He currently lives near Bergamo in North Italy.
