Autorenporträt
I was born in March of 1944 in the Bronx, New York to second generation Swedish and Italian parents. While his mother had only a grammar school education (like many of her generation), she somehow found time amid the bedlam of raising nine children to consume the Reader's Digest condensed books that arrived monthly at their Bronx public housing home. Her interest in the bestsellers of that day instilled in Oscar a love of books and literature from an early age.I attended night school under the GI bill, while working full-time and raising five children with his wife. While the definition of a hardworking family man, he also found time to perform services for public and charitable organizations, which garnered numerous awards and testimonials. While maintaining a robust lifestyle, the premature death of his wife to Esophageal Cancer was a life-changing experience, eventually leading to a personal renaissance that included learning to sail, delving into opera and ballroom dancing, traveling, acting, and writing, all while continuing to run his contracting and consulting firm. As of this writing, I have authored two other books and working on a fourth. Two of the books received great reviews from Kirkus and other nationally recognized book review organizations.
