Please Don't Call Me: Graphic Design and Other Hang-ups features, for the first time, a massive collection of posters, logos, packaging, and ephemera from Sugiuchi's 40-plus years of toiling in the field of graphic design. The book also includes sketches, scribbles, failures and behind-the-scenes commentary on projects for film, music and beyond. Lots of cool stuff to look at without the messiness of too many "words" and lots of "reading". He's worked with everyone from Green Day to John Waters. Sometimes, he gets paid.

Autorenporträt
Scott Sugiuchi is a self-proclaimed pop culture junkie and graphic designer. On occasion he plays bass with garage legends The Hate Bombs as well as releasing records on the irreverent Hidden Volume Records. Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Sugiuchi's work is deeply rooted in comic books, advertising from the middle of the twentieth century, cult cinema, and trash rock. He currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is the art director for Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. Art Chantry is a designer most often associated with the logos, posters and album art he created for countless punk, grunge and rock bands and their labels. His work has been exhibited at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Museum of Modern Art, Seattle Art Museum, the Smithsonian and the Louvre. He is the author of the cult book Art Chantry Speaks: A Heretic's History of 20th-Century Graphic Design and is the recipient of the 2017 American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Medal.
