Plum Township, which later reorganized as Plum Borough, was founded on December 18, 1788, and westward pioneers soon chose to settle in the region. Frank J. Kordalski Jr. is the archivist for the Allegheny Foothills Historical Society in Plum Borough and has served on the organization's board of directors and various planning committees. He has meticulously researched the photographic archives of the historical society, as well as the archives of several individuals and other organizations, in order to compile the photographic collection for Plum Borough.
