Due to the importance of PM synchronous machine in many categories like in industrial, mechatronics, automotive and robotic applications moreover in smart power grid applications, this book is presented. Simulation for dynamic and static models for ac Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (SPMSM) with the aid of MATLAB Simulink environment is introduced. After that, it proposes (SPMSM) Control Strategies with Their Neural Network Regression Functions. Later, a field oriented controlled PM motor drive system is described and analyzed. A comparative study of hysteresis and PWM control schemes associated with current controllers has been made. High Speed PM Synchronous Motor sizing is proposed. The machine initial and detailed sizings are proposed. After that, we propose optimized sizing trials using MATLAB optimization toolbox. Then, HSPMSM Genetic Algorithm sizing trials are introduced too. Later, sizing comparisons among six examples are presented. Illustration of pole variations effect on sizing parameters and m/c characteristics in the form of charts are proposed.
