Anybody who has worked on or lived on a farm will be well aware of the urgent "call to arms" when the stock have escaped. Most of us keep a bit of string and a penknife in our pockets as well for emergency repairs on the go! This little book rambles through some of the ups and downs of living in a rural area using simple verse. Put the kettle on, sit back and enjoy the read.

Autorenporträt
Jan Millward worked for 14 years as a carer and Activity Coordinator in a care home in rural Dorset. She now works freelance delivering rhyme and reminiscing sessions to care homes in the area as well as mentoring Activity Coordinators. She has always been involved in farming, having studied at Harper Adams and has worked on many farms both in the UK and abroad. Jan lives in a tied cottage on a beef and arable farm where her husband is the tractor driver. She has a deep love of the countryside and her time is shared between organising events and entertainments for elderly residents and "standing in gaps" on the farm! Her poems include an eclectic mix of life experiences, funny and sometimes sad.
