These poems are the imaginings inside my head. Their ordering reflects my priorities. My family comes first. The time and place poems focus on everyday life, feelings and reactions to events. The narrative poems have helped me to grasp some of the issues lying behind the shifting identities in these islands. They dip down into pre-history and up again into the present day. Geology is a unifying theme. The commentary poems range from the serious to the frivolous. They set out my stall. I hope they are not too lecturing. The poems of possibility are my attempt to wrap some metaphysics around the real world. I have thought that when I go, maybe my " Annie... " poem and " Dreaming On " might make a suitable epitaph.
