Author and illustrator Patricia A. Maurice is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences at the University of Notre Dame (https://engineering.nd.edu/profiles/pmaurice). She is the author of over 120 published scientific papers along with several books, including the 2009 textbook Environmental Surfaces and Interfaces from the Nanoscale to the Global Scale (Wiley).
