Autorenporträt
In a small Northern Wisconsin town, Surrounded by lumber and farms, amid self-sufficient families, a newly graduated dentist and his wife have their first child . . . And the stock market crashes, the Great Depression arrives, then just when things start to look hopeful- WWII tears the town's families apart, scattering the future all over the world. The child is me-Noreen Rae IsonI might have had a predicted life but once the box is open, change happens.Surrounded by love and also high expectations, I went to UW-Madison, and married, Then, after my husband returned from service in the Philippines, back to Madison with two children, on husband's GI Bill, and then the 1960s, with one more child, I felt buried in suburbia. Inevitably life changed, divorce and belated career, retirement, travel all interspersed with marriages, births, deaths. Now I am 92. Still can't believe it, but every morning I wake filled with inexpressible joy and gratitude.
